I received a fun package in the mail today. Nick actually handed it to me (unopened) and said, 'it smells like hippies." Which was quite ironic since it was soap. hehe
A week or so ago, I added these little guys to my etsy cart and told myself that I would buy them the next time I got a sale that covered their cost. Well, low and behold I did, and now they're mine. =) The funnest part was getting to pick 9 different 'flavors'. My skin is a little sensitive so there were a couple of my picks that I had to change because they had added fragrance, but the shop owner was quite helpful in finding ones that would work for me.
9 Different Flavors from SweetSallysSoaps:
I Love Coffee Pink Grapefruit Citrus Scrub
Dead Sea Mud Oatmeal & Honey Peppermint Swirl
Carrot Beer Lavender & Beramot
I can't wait to try them all

the big debate
No, I'm not talking politics, but most of you will probably find this to be about as boring as that.
I'm trying to decide which state to claim residency to. I have always claimed Kansas. My house is there, the majority of my possessions are there, and up until this past year, my car was even left there while I was away. I'm away more than I'm there. I'm technically living in Nevada, which would be great to claim, due to no state income tax, but it's a big decision. A little scary and I don't make decisions lightly. I'd hate to switch and then a few months later, turn around and have to switch again. What a mess. How long am I staying here? I have no clue. I like it here. I've made some friends and connections, am working on a few projects, but I still have no 'employer'. No steady income.
Kansas is not where I want to live. Well, it's not at the top of my list anyway. If I needed to move back there, I'd be alright with that, but I'm enjoying being away. I just feel split. I don't want to sell my house. It's my home. It's mine. If I sell it, I know I won't be approved to buy another one. I do day dream about living in my house again...if only I could move it here without the mortgage increasing.
Back to reality. My car tag is due this month. Or should I say, next week. I have been putting off registering it because I can't decide if I should just continue to keep it registered in Kansas or register it in Nevada. If I register my car, then that changes my insurance and drivers license and therefore my residency. It's EASIER to just stick with Kansas, but not sure I should. My taxes are already a mess with a house in Kansas, self employeement, and did I mention I do them myself. ick
Do I take the leap and claim Nevada? How will that effect my independent business? I wish small business tax consultants were cheaper. Or that I knew one here in Nevada that I could trust.
I know no one else cares, but these thoughts have been consuming me lately. I was hoping this might help me work through them. Not so lucky. I need to make a decision quick.

Lucky WHITE for St Patty's Day
The mountain is finally getting some good snow cover. Heavenly (the closest ski resort) got 4 feet in 24 hours so I was there first thing yesterday, sportin' my very green jacket as always. The snow was deep and heavy, and wore me out. I was drained the rest of the day. Actually, I still feel a little sluggish this morning. There is more fresh snow on the mountain, but I decided to stay home and recoup today. Maybe get some work done. ;)
I originally posted my snowboarding video last June which felt odd, though it actually snowed again after that. Being surrounded by snow, I felt the urge to watch it again this morning. If you've never been skiing or snowboarding, it gives you a good idea of what it's like...from the chairlift ride up, strapping in, playing in different kinds of snow and terrain, to reaching the bottom and wanting to do it all over again. I remember saying at the very end when I unstrapped (and wish it had gotten recorded), "Let's do it again."
I still love the sound track to it. Makes me happy inside.

Claw foot tub SOFA
I do my fair share of online window shopping and usually find stuff I'd like to have. Sometimes, I find really awesome super clever stuff like this vintage claw foot tub made into a sofa. Brilliant!
I found it in an etsy shop called Ruff House Art. Click the image to see more pictures of these sofas plus they have 3 others listed in their shop.
Fun Fact: I grew up in an old vintage house with only a claw foot tub, no shower. I wonder if the new owners ever remodeled the bathroom?

Snow
Sunday was a lovely day for a bike ride and Monday it snowed ALL day. Which was actually quite lovely for staying in and being cozy by the fire.
The bird feeder was knocked down by the wind and seed was scattered everywhere. Not to worry, the birds and chipmunks didn't let it go to waste.
As you can see, the birds around here seem to be well fed.
I went snowboarding twice this week, which is a record for this year. Yesterday, was really good. There was finally enough snow in the trees that I felt comfortable playing in there the whole time.
And today it's sunny and warm again. LOVE the weather here this year!
Hope you're getting out and enjoying what ever mother nature brings you.
