Rainbows

Yes, I am obsessed with rainbows. It's official.

There is a fun way to shop on etsy.com called a treasury. They are themed lists of items curated by members. I decided to curate a few myself and have completely lost it. I seriously posted 4 rainbow treasuries just today. haha.

I also recently updated my shop banner. I really enjoy changing up the colors every couple months, usually coordinating with the upcoming holiday. I made this one prodominantly green with a bright full spectrum rainbow. Of course, my 'logo' is already a rainbow, but I started off with a non-traditional one with fewer colors and lower chroma colors. ANY who. Here's my cutie header!! And my colorful featured items below it.

I've added 2 rainbow leg warmers and 2 green leg warmers and a green Retro Rack so far. Next up is my final pair of green leg warmers. They are green and yellow striped. You might recognize them because I've been wearing that sweater for the last couple winters. After that is the little art bag I made with a painted rainbow on the front pocket. Plus, I finally photographed the rest of the retro racks and the 4 aprons I just finished. Lots of photo editing in my near future.

Sweethearts, a camera, & V-Day

I'm so happy my Sweetheart series went over well.

I am currently offering to embroider a heart (for FREE) to any item purchased in my shop. There are some sexy red and some spunky red legwarmers that would be perfect for this.

I have lots of ideas and supplies to make more, but it gets harder and harder to find a willing photographer (since I am also the model, it makes it hard for me to take the pics). Soooo... I need a new camera. If you are into cameras, let me know if you have any suggestions. Features needed: wireless remote shutter release (to take pics of myself modeling product), xlarge front view screen (so I can see what I'm taking a picture of), and around 12 mp....under $500 (hopefully, a lot under).

I am also busy volunteering for V-Day. I do not enjoy performing in front of people so I had agreed to do behind-the-scenes types of jobs. However, I have been asked to play a small part in the Vagina Monologues. I was really hesitant to commit, but told myself that since it scares me so much, I've really got to do it. You might remember, on my 31 before 32 list I have 'do something scary'. I didn't know what that something scary was going to be, I just told myself...'when I feel that awful anxiety welling up inside of me, that will be it'. I have to admit, I'm enjoying the camaraderie. Plus, I have the funnest (and possibly the smallest) part playing a six year old girl. I have also been doing some design for the events and love the positive reactions from the other girls.

Well, I'm off to the post office to ship my first international sale and then off to see a bunch of houses with our realtor.

old school Atari style

Last Friday, I posted a spunky set of legwarmers that I titled "Old School Atari-styled.." and they sold in record time. Well, record time for me that is. =) I received the email 20 minutes after I posted them. I was super excited as you could probably imagine.

The day before, we had to leave the house by 7am to make a 40 min drive to "town" to drop the car off for some work...SO i had to get up quite a bit earlier than normal...AND bring everything with me for the photoshoot. Well, I made the mistake of not actually putting the whole outfit on together before leaving the house and I was really regretting my shoe choice. The majority of my shoes are still about 1600miles away in storage, but REALLY? what was I thinking when I choose these shoes? We went ahead and took some photos anyway (because I take every chance I can for Nick to take pictures for me) and just crossed my fingers hoping they would turn out ok. And when I asked Nick what he thought... he, and I quote, said "they were ok" which led to a discussion about how girls and guys mean different things when they say something is "ok".

I was so disgusted with my shoes (some ol' chucks would have been perfect) that I actually took them off, but it looked silly sitting outside with no shoes on.



Though I did think this one taken inside our favorite local coffee shop came out kind of neat.


We got lucky and found this cool yellow and white garage door. I was thankful the owner didn't come out and tell us to leave.


The pictures were obviously good enough to give me a sale within 20mins so it just goes to show that sometimes.... it just doesn't matter if you have the right shoes on ;)

fun photoshoot today

One of the funnest photoshoots we have done it quite some time. A Wild Wednesday for sure. =) I got all colorful and spunky, and Nick did a great job taking the pictures.






So far these are my very favorite and I am totally keeping them if they don't sell!

Shop update

I have created what I call my Spunky Series. They are sort of Punky Brewster inspired. She was one of my idols as a child...ok, still is :)
I wanted to link to a picture of her so I started browsing. I could totally see Punky wearing my leg warmers and headbands, but I now realize they are more of a "Punky Brewster gone Hippy".
Anyways, they are super fun and colorful. I have already posted these 3 items.

Decided to go public

I've decided to make my blog public. For those that like to receive notification of new posts, just add me to your google reader or feeder of your choice. I will still be posting a mix of personal life, travel, art, projects, and soon my new indie business.

And that brings me to another big step I took today. I now own spunkidoodle.com! finally, right? There is nothing on there right now, but I'll sure let you know when there is.
