the Sunday Special - Artichokes
They're kind of my new thing. Since I learned how to prepare and eat artichokes a month ago, I've eaten 4 of them. There really is a CHOKE so be aware...but don't be scared. It's pretty simple and there are lots of 'how to' instructions and videos out there. (This is a good one.)
I actually haven't seasoned the water (as the link suggests). After cooking the first artichoke in just plain water, I decided to keep the water for the next time I made one. I have continued to do so each time and have been cooking other veges in it too. As you might have guessed, it's creating a nutrient rich vegetable broth.
While it's boiling (covered), I set a glass dish of chopped garlic and coconut oil on the lid. It is warm and ready for the dipping when the artichoke is done cooking. Butter is good too, of course. =)
