Last week, we made a spur of the moment decision to hop in the car and spend the night in Reno. We threw together our overnight bags in about 15 minutes and then jumped in the car. It's only about an hour and a half away, but we had a comp room at the Harrah's hotel and needed to do some shopping the next day. We arrived there about 9pm.
We cozied up in our large hotel bed and went to sleep early.
The next morning, we tried out a new restaurant (inside the hotel) called Hash Housh A Go GO. It was expensive for breakfast, but really you get your moneys' worth. The portions were huge and hearty.
We shared a large glass of fresh squeezed Tangerine Juice. Very good!
I had the Roasted Chicken, garlic, onions, asparagus and rosemary, tossed with crispy potatoes & topped w/ 2 eggs, served with fruit and a biscuit.
The biscuit was sooo yummy, they don't even serve butter with it (at least they didn't supply me with any) and it doesn't need it. They did have some yummy in-house-made strawberry jam on the table. My only complaint, the bottom of the skillet was really oily therefore most of the potatoes were oily. The flavor of everything was delicious.
Nick had the Sage Fried Chicken and Bacon infused Waffle stack with fried leeks, all drizzled with maple syrup.
Needless to say, we didn't finish off our plates and we didn't eat lunch.
A quick but enjoyable time in Reno.
This weekend we are going camping!! Woohoo! And the temperatures are going to be perfect! Time to shed my winter coat :)
